ABOUT REV. JUAVATA K. JONES
Rev. Juavata K. Jones is the President and Founder of Journey Ministries, Incorporated. She is a loving mother of two grown children and nine grandchildren. Juavata has held leadership and teaching positions since 1978 and was privileged to travel and minister with an international ministry both domestically and internationally from 2000-2007. Currently she has been on 12 international ministry trips and 19 domestic ministry trips while working full time at a Federal Correctional Institution. After retiring from the Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Prisons in 2008 at the age of 53, she now offers her life full time in service as a willing vessel to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to those in need of a Savior through Evangelism. She is grateful to the Lord as He opens doors of opportunity to minister for Kingdom Purpose at her local church and upon request. John 10:10 says, It is "the thief or satan" that comes to steal, kill and destroy" not God! God comes to give us life and that more abundantly! As representatives of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, we may not have all the answers, but with The Lord, we can help those in need realize God was there all the time! Sharing Scriptures will help, but sometimes it is just nice to have someone stand with you in faith, reassure you, pray with you or just be there so you are not alone. According to Ephesians 1:4 & 5 and 2:10, from before the foundation of the world, we each have a Call of God upon our lives, an assignment from the Holy One, that only we can do. Not all ministry is renownly public, some are more covert or behind-the-scenes in nature as "Special Assignments!"
Rev. Juavata considers herself a "TACHMONITE" (Hebrew) for an ordinary person, not of great wealth or riches, or worldly acclaim, but an ordinary person God took from the mundane and placed in the supernatural! What was impossible with man was made possible only through the Grace and Power of God! My life and calling is based out of First Corinthians 1:26-31. And, Journey Ministries, Incorporated was birthed and launched on February 14, 2008, out of Revelation 3:8 (Amplified Version)--"I know your [record of] works and what you are doing. See! I have set before you a door wide open which no one is able to shut; I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept My Word and guarded My message and have not renounced or denied My name."
I Corn. 1:26-31--26 For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. 27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; 28 and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, 29 that no flesh should glory in His presence. 30 But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God — and righteousness and sanctification and redemption — 31 that, as it is written, "He who glories, let him glory in the LORD." NKJV
My sincerest desire, is EVERYTHING that is accomplished through Journey Ministries, Incorporated be accredited to the Lord Most High. Let he who glories, glory in the LORD!
While traveling internationally, each place the Lord sent was unique and descriptive. For example, Lagos, Nigeria, Africa, is a dry, harsh land filled with a sea of 15 million people, many are Spirit Filled and serve the Lord with their whole heart. Benin City, Africa, is equally as harsh, however, Abuja, Africa, is a thriving modern metropolitan city filled with government offices and interstates. St. Lucia is a small Island in the Caribbean with breath-taking views and people who willingly worship for four-six hours. In mountain ranges that reach to the sky are impoverished people of Mexico who hunger for more of the Lord. Greece is filled with ancient, historic sites and yet with newness that comes from hungry hearts for the Lord. Both Ireland and England are filled with vaulted ceilings, cathedral churches, prosperous businesses, while drug addicts, drunks, prostitutes and those in need of Jesus roam the streets mingling with business people and the common laborer. On the outskirts of town, gypsies literally praise the Lord and dance in the streets. Israel is almost indescribable as it seems you step back in time when Jesus walked on this earth. India and the Philippines almost defy description of heart-breakingly poor, destitute people and starving children that wonder the streets alone. Crime, deranged, demonized people held in bondage by the enemy of their soul and that land, eagerly await the freedom that only comes in the Name of Jesus! Rev. Juavata has been to the following overseas countries: Multiple times to England and Ireland, St. Lucia in the Caribbean, Mexico, three times to Africa, two times to Greece, India, Philippines and Israel. Domestic travel has included multiple trips to the following states: Florida, Alabama, Missouri, Texas, Georgia and Washington DC. (Visit the "Photo Gallery" for a few pictures of these places.)
